Founder and Executive Chairman
Tony Goodwin is the founder and chief executive officer of Antal International. A graduate of Middlesex University, Tony trained as a chartered accountant before moving into financial recruitment where he ran operations for HW Group (now part of Hudson).
In 1993, spotting the potential of the new professional employment markets in the former Warsaw pact countries; he set up his own business with an office in Budapest in Hungary and named the company Antal – Hungarian for ‘Tony’. Since then Tony and his team have developed substantial businesses in highly challenging environments across the globe, including Russia and China.
In 2001, in conjunction with the group’s managing director, Graeme Read, Tony developed a franchise brand to supplement the wholly owned organisation – Antal International Network (AIN). In June 2010, Tony was named as one of the country’s top businessmen after being awarded a prize at the Ernst & Young London & South Entrepreneur of the Year Awards 2010, he went on to win the same award in this category in 2011. Tony set up Antal Charitable Foundation which focuses on assisting children’s charities such as Duke of Edinburgh Award, Chance UK and Smiling Children. Tony also occasionally manages to find time to make use of his long-standing season ticket at Chelsea FC and has published the book ‘How They Blew It’ in July 2010.
MD of Antal International, India
Joseph Devasia, launched Antal’s first office in Mumbai in 2007 as Managing Partner. Joseph has had over 10 years’ experience in manufacturing, IT consulting and human resources in India and the UK.
With his international work experience and sharp business acumen, the business has grown from strength to strength. From a 2 member team, Joseph has built his business to a 42 member team in the last few years still managing to exponentially grow the Antal India network.
Joseph has studied his Bachelors in Electrical Engineering from Maharaja Sayajirao University, Vadodara, India.
Franchise Sales Manager
Our Franchise Sales Manager can be described as proactive and result oriented who is always ready to put all her energy and time to get the job done. She has completed her Graduation in Business Management Studies. She was associated with organizations like Paramount HR Services and Unify Search Solutions Pvt. Ltd. where she was responsible for both Business Development along with Recruitment for Middle East, Africa & PAN India for various industry segments like Construction, Oil & Gas, IT, BFSI, Retail etc.
As Franchise Sales Manager, her role is to introduce Antal International to professionals or recruitment businesses that are inclined towards entrepreneurship, who wish to grow with Antal globally whilst working along with the thought leaders of the industry.
Franchise Training Director
Shinu Jose joined Antal in India as first consultant to be hired in the first Indian office. She successfully built the desk in sales and marketing, working through the proven business model and the Recruitment process Antal has perfected over its two decades plus of existence. Over the five years on her desk, she helped many client organisations start up or scale up significantly in India. Her proud moment comes from collaborating on BMW’s first Management Associate Program for India, as well as the credibility she developed within her chosen niche.
Apart from her own desk, she also helped the office in hiring, training, inducting and mentoring the staff. 3
From March 2012, she became part of the Network support team in India and took over the mantle in Franchise Training. In her role, Shinu taps into her conviction of success garnered through working the model and she continues to support the network offices not only in facilitating a strategic vision but also in tactical aspects of running a business and running a desk.
After having worked very closely with various personalities of owners, She appreciates the challenges of growth that accompanies every owner and every business she works with and is able to provide both future looking and remedial advice. She also understands that start up challenges are different to scale up challenges and is able to provide appropriate and relevant support to the owner/business with regard to their lifecycle.
The work role has expanded to include not only training, but also business coaching and operational support. In her words, ” My work includes anything that owner or a consultant needs to be successful in their roles, and to make money for themselves.”
Together with the Support team, Shinu keeps her ear to the ground and works for the benefit of the network of owners and consultant. Under the direction of the MD, she has provided structure to various operational elements in the business and is at the helm of the aspirational and path breaking Antal’s Certification Program for its consultants.
As an ode to her contributions, she has received Most Notable Contribution to the Business (2011), Global Support Person of the Year (2013) and India Excellence Award (2016).
Franchise Training Coordinator
Rohini has joined us, as our Franchise Training Coordinator. She has a total of 6 years of experience, 4 years of which were in Training and Development. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce and is currently pursuing her Post Graduation Course in Instructional Design from Symbiosis, Pune.
She has previously worked in BPO and E-commerce sector for brands like Wipro and People Interactive. She has trained large and small groups in Sales, After-Sales Service, Technical Helpdesk and Customer Relations Management. She has successfully completed her Train the Trainer certification with both Wipro and British Telecom. She has received awards for being the sole contributor to Training Programmes in Wipro and has also handled multiple projects in People Interactive in terms of revenue and customer centricity.
At Antal, she works closely with Franchise owners and their consultants. She is solely responsible for training and coaching Year-1 consultants in the Network. She facilitates various training programs to up-skill consultants in recruitment and business development. This is followed up with different activities and tasks to gauge their understanding. She participates in one-on-one interactions with the owners and consultants to help them stay rooted to the Antal values and our unique methodology. These interventions help Owners and consultants build a strong business foundation.
Amongst her wide variety of interests, reading a novel & travelling are her favourite past-times.
Manager Public Relations
Gina Mascarenhas joined Antal International, India 4 years ago and manages PR & Internal Communications for Antal International, India. She holds a Post Graduate Diploma is PR & Advertising from Kishandchand Chellaram College, MA in History and Graduation in Arts (History). At Antal, she manages media relations seeking presence across print, online and electronic media. She creates content for press releases, authored articles, newsletters, corporate brochures and sector bulletins. She also drives the social media content for Antal India to engage audiences across traditional and new media.
Prior to joining Antal she worked with HANMER MSL for 2 years where she worked with clients like ACC Cement, Eureka Forbes, Loop Mobile, Whats On India, Bharti Airtel DTH.
Group Finance Director
After graduating with a BA (Hons) degree in Accounting and Finance, Sagar started his professional career at Antal International in April 2006. He joined the finance team as a Purchase Ledger Clerk and Contracts Administrator. Sagar’s responsibilities quickly grew within the finance team and he began to assist with group audits and treasury management.
He was a key member of the finance team during the sale of Antal Russia in 2008 and the Antal ventures acquisitions, including Parkside Recruitment in July 2011. In 2012 Sagar was promoted to UK Finance Manager and then in 2013, after the sale of Antal Poland was promoted to Group Financial Controller. In 2014, realising his hard work and dedication to Antal, Tony Goodwin promoted Sagar to Group Finance Director and also made him a valued member of the Antal Board. Sagar also plays a lead role in the acquisition strategy with Mike Ryall and Tony Goodwin and in May 2015 completed the acquisition of Smart Moves Recruitment Ltd. In 2017 he was a very important part of Antal Russia coming back into Antal’s fray and a comfortable transition from FiveTen group.
Group IT Manager
Rakesh has over 20 years of experiences, working in IT and Accounts within the recruitment sector, 12 of those years where he spent here over 2 periods. Rakesh joined Antal International back in 1999 as a Junior Account Assistant then he moved across to the IT department in 2000 as a 1st Line IT Support for the global group. From there, he has progressed to be senior member of the IT team. In 2004 Rakesh joined The Impellam Group, formally Carlisle Group where he joined to run the new formed Application Support team for the group.
After a short 3 years stint away from Antal International; Rakesh re-joined Antal International as the Group IT Manager where he has applied his knowledge and experience to support, maintain and develop the IT systems in this fast and moving technology world. He is a one point contact for everything related to IT.
